Surgical treatments for this condition have ranged from simple linear craniectomies, accounting for the specific role of cranial sutures in assuring the normal growth of the skull, to more complex cranial vault reconstructions, based on the perceived role of the skull base in affecting the growth of the skull. While a great deal of evolution has occurred, there remains controversy regarding the ideal treatment including the best surgical technique, the optimal age for surgery, and the long-term morphological and neurodevelopmental outcomes. This APN edition seeks to discuss perioperative care, relevant anatomy, surgical techniques, new technologies, the management of possible surgical complications, and other important issues regarding Craniosynostosis in children.

Archives of Pediatric Neurosurgery welcomes the submission of manuscripts in these and other areas. Topics of interest include preclinical studies, clinical research, prehospital management, imaging, and others.

Articles should be prepared in compliance with Archives of Pediatric Neurosurgery Instructions for Authors and submitted through the journal's Editorial Manager submission portal.

Please be sure to indicate in your cover letter that you are submitting in reply to this Call for Papers.
